Description

This sweet little lady has a BIG goofy, silly personality. Paris roams around the house like she owns the place, following her human around and snuggling up next to--or on--them, purring the whole time. She also likes getting brushed with a soft wire brush. When she’s not with her human or watching the world outside from a cat tree, she can be found batting toys around or chasing her feline siblings playfully. She is very good with other cats and could coexist with other polite kitties after a slow introduction. Paris loves a good routine, so if you need help with that, she's your gal and she can be adorably bossy around mealtimes- she takes them very seriously!

Paris is a special gal in another way. She is considered a hospice kitty (although you'd never know looking at her), since our veterinary staff removed a small mass from her abdomen (stage 1 mammary cancer). When all of the cancerous tissue can't be removed (as was the case here), mammary cancer can regrow or spread. Timelines for spread and regrowth can vary. As of August 2024, there has been no evidence of cancer elsewhere in her body, and she seems quite comfortable. She's looking for a family who can keep her as happy as possible for the time she has.

This pet's adoption fee is waived and is eligible for an Amazon gift card after adoption to use towards supplies! Our staff can let you know more during/after bringing your new pet home!

Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society

Shelter

PAWS is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to saving Philadelphia’s homeless, abandoned, and unwanted animals. PAWS is Philadelphia's largest no-kill shelter and is working to make Philadelphia a city in which every healthy and treatable pet is guaranteed a home. Through its adoption locations, special events, and foster care network, PAWS finds loving homes for thousands of animals each year. In March 2010, PAWS opened a low-cost, high-volume spay/neuter and wellness clinic serving pet owners and rescues in an effort to keep pets healthy and reduce the homeless pet population. Located in the Grays Ferry section of the city, the Clinic serves pet owners who have difficulty affording or do not have access to basic veterinary care (sterilization, vaccinations, treatments for upper respiratory infections/parasites/fleas, etc.) and rescue organizations that need affordable spay/neuter surgery and basic veterinary care to carry out their lifesaving work. Support for PAWS funds lifesaving initiatives including adoption and foster care programs, spay/neuter surgeries, low-cost vaccinations, and other efforts, all of which help reduce and will ultimately eliminate the unnecessary killing of Philadelphia's animals. Donations to PAWS are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
